Coming Out of the Closet…

August 25, 2010 § 1 Comment

Please don’t judge. I know my closet looks rough. Frustrated by the sight of it and the inability to find anything to wear, I set out on a mission to get organized, build some shelves, and purge my closet of clothes I no longer wear/want.

Playing Tourist

August 24, 2010 § Leave a comment

I have a lot of extra time on my hand while I continue to knock down doors looking for a job.  In the meantime, I’m enjoying NOLA’s hidden treasures. I like to think I was in a foreign country when I look at these photographs. Hell, I might as well have been in another country. Everything looks foreign and unrecognizable after a two months of a studying in a library cave.

Beaux-Jangles

I saw these the other day at the open air market in the quarter. I immediately wanted to buy them all and start loading up my wrists. I am thoroughly convinced it’s Johnnie Mae’s fault that I have a love affair for great bangles.

This year’s “run” (though I don’t recall seeing anyone running, lots of tennis shoes and race numbers, but no running) started in the Marigny at Washington Square winding its way through the quarter and of course down Bourbon Street.

The Butcher, the Baker, the Candlestick maker

August 17, 2010 § 2 Comments

930 Tchoupitoulas

Ok, so the baker and candlestick maker failed to RSVP for lunch but boy did the butcher show up and show out. Butcher, around the corner from Couchon and conveniently owned by the same folks, is a delicious deli with a penchant for delectable treats of the meat variety.
